Pat Dion – Owner/Operator
I want clients to understand that we are about relationships first and the project second, a philosophy I’ve developed in 20 years of construction management. In addition to providing high-quality services and unmatched workmanship, we foster a culture of reliability and communication that creates a high level of trust with our clients.
As the owner of Quality Renovations, I take pride in running projects smoothly, on schedule and on budget. But a general contractor is only as good as his trade partners. So I strive to find quality, local professionals who are the best at what they do and work hard to develop their craft.
I also enjoy solving problems for my clients, who know they can contact me with any concern at any time and get an immediate response. And at the end of the job, I want them to be so satisfied with—even surprised by—the quality of work and how well the job went that they’ll hire us again for future construction needs. After more than 20 years as a business owner, I’m privileged to receive referrals for 90% of the work we get. I know I’ve done my job well when I hear, “I’ll refer you to everyone I know!”
Growing up a mountain boy in Carbondale, Colorado, I was less than a model student, to put it gently. After my lackluster educational efforts, a stint in the Navy afforded me the drive and focus I needed to jump from construction-site gopher to a home builder and finally a remodeling general contractor. Over the years, I’ve also been a committed student—receiving an accounting certification and continuing education to keep fresh on industry practices—enhancing my abilities to run a successful business.
I moved to Longmont in 1990 and have lived in Berthoud since 2006 with my teenage son and daughter.
Steve Messner – Senior Project Manager
I remember making my own wooden blocks as a young child growing up in California and have been building ever since. I always knew I wanted to work in construction, graduating with a degree in construction technology and working my way up throughout my career. In doing so, I learned not only every facet of the construction industry—from codes and safety to quality control—but also, most importantly, how to deal with clients. And that’s definitely one of the best parts of my job.
My philosophy is simple: “treat our clients the way I would want to be treated.” But more than that, I enjoy leading my clients through the process and helping them realize their dream project. I understand that the customer isn’t working in this industry every day like I am, so it’s my goal to lead them gently through the journey to ease stress and fear. With attention to detail and compassion, I hope to achieve that for every QR client.
I’ve lived for the last 20 years in the Longmont area, keeping busy on my days off fishing, hiking and walking my lab, Remington.
Dawn Fisher – Operations Manager
Originally from Massachusetts, I made a huge move from the East Coast to Colorado over 10 years ago. After being successfully self-employed for many years, when it was time to move on, Pat asked me to be part of the team at Quality Renovations & Home Services.
Although I’ve been involved in the growth of many types businesses, my favorite by far, is the exhilaration of the construction industry.
Growing up, I served as ‘assistant’ to my dad’s DIY projects. He taught me about plumbing and carpentry and I spent many hours constructing my own projects out of scrap pieces of wood making beds for our dogs!
My role at Quality Renovations combines my problem-solving and people skills with my love for construction and small business in an environment that’s like a family to me. Being a part of the QR Team gives me a tremendous sense of satisfaction.
I live in Longmont and spend my non-working time with my dogs and horses. And, when possible, I go East to spend time with my adorable grandson.
Brian Benner – Partner, Quality Renovations and Restorations
I moved to Colorado in 2003 with my wife Sally to escape the Wisconsin winters. I have two boys, Keegan and Deklan, and two dogs, Zoe and Gunner. I have worked on both sides of the property restoration business, starting with the insurance side for five years and then working on the general contracting side for 5 years as a project manager. I strive to service my clients, acting as a liaison between them and the insurance company, making sure they are made whole after disaster strikes.
Tom Connelly – Infrastructure Contractor
As a longtime engineering development and project manager in the high-tech industry, I know what it takes to streamline processes and create a successful business.
As a contractor for Quality Renovations, I’m using the same skills I’ve developed over the years in the computer/data-storage arena to help them become more organized and efficient. By developing and delivering the best tools and infrastructure for automating processes and procedures, Quality Renovations can focus on the customer and what they do best, delivering outstanding home renovations that are both on budget and on time.
